Oh, hi there, this is CJ!

I started photography 12 years ago, self-taught.

In the first few years, I had ventured into streets photography. Capturing the hustle and bustle of big cities and small towns I travelled to. Amazed by the way photography brings people close to a foreign place, to meet strangers and to witness history. Stories unfold through images. It is the portkey that brings memories to life.

Photography was my way to connect and contribute. Novelists tell stories with words; artists speak with their paint brush. I on the other hand, play with light. It is so much fun, putting together a bunch of elements to create chemistry and capture the unique aha moment. 

For newlyweds, they often put a lot of attention into details. The place, the atmosphere, the dress, and here goes the long list. But the key elements of a good wedding photo are “the couple” themselves. The sentimental connection and playful exchange between the pair were what truly sparks the timelessness moment that belongs solely to the couple. Everything else was just noise.

I favor natural light in my work. I love bringing my clients out to the field. It might be in the middle of nowhere, but in my work these places became wonderlands. As I believe the true aesthetic and artistic value of a photo, lies in the unknown and not confine to the predictable factors inside a studio.

I hid behind the cam, capturing interactions, and emotions, preserving the time of your life into beautiful images. I wish in another time of your life, you could time travel and celebrate every precious moment once again with your loved ones.
